Punjab: Four booked for attempt to murder in Patiala

Police on Thursday booked four persons under sections of IPC for an alleged attempt to murder on two residents of their village in Punjab's Patiala district.

PATIALA: Police on Thursday booked four persons under sections of IPC for an alleged attempt to murder on two residents of their village in Punjab's Patiala district.
The case has been registered with Anaj Mandi police station against four persons of Alipur Arayiya village in Patiala on the complaint of Sukhdev Singh of the same village. The accused have been identified as Gurdev Singh and his two sons Baljinder Singh and Sandeep Singh and their cousin Harjinder Singh of Alipur Arayiya village.
The complainant alleged that he and the accused share the boundary of agricultural land and both of them had sown wheat crop recently.
Sukhdev further in his complaint alleged following rainfall he visited the fields and tried to make a space on the boundary of agricultural land so that stagnant rainwater can move downwards to other fields and then into the drains finally.
He further claimed that the accused who were standing in their fields suddenly attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. Sukhdev further told the police that he called his son for help but the accused didn’t spare him and attacked him too with the same weapons.
"We have registered the case against the accused under sections of attempt to murder, voluntary causing hurt, criminal intimidation and common intention on the complaint of Sukhdev who has been hospitalized along with his son Lakhwinder Singh. The further investigation is underway," said station house officer, Anaj Mandi police station.
