CHENNAI: The AIADMK government must immediately convene an all-party meeting, at least through videoconferencing, and involve all parties in taking steps for preventing further spread of Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu, said DMK president M K Stalin on Saturday.
The number of Covid-19 positive cases are increasing with every passing day, he said. Despite the government assuring people that lockdown would not affect supply of essential commodities, people were unable to get them, he said.
It was the government’s responsibility to ensure that lockdown did not bring life to a grinding halt, he said.
People were not following social distancing norms, he lamented.
The government should not think it could provide solution to all the problems. It is high time all parties were roped in, he said.
Stalin also called for a transparent approach in fighting the virus attack. Proper dissemination of information was the need of the hour, he said.
CPI state secretary R Mutharasan also demanded an all-party meeting to discuss the crisis.
