MADURAI: Former Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan on Wednesday took a dig at DMK president M K Stalin, saying that the latter is “confused about whether he is contesting for the post of the chief minister of Tamil Nadu or for Prime Minister’s post when he assured students that NEET would be banned when his party comes to power.
Addressing the media at the birthday celebrations of PM Narendra Modi in Tuticorin, the BJP leader said, “I heard many MLAs have corona.” He was referring to DMK MLAs wearing masks with anti-NEET slogans on them.

The former minister said the DMK should discuss these issues in the the assembly instead of resorting to such 'stunts'.
“Political leaders should have the aim of motivating students. They should not wait for students' bodies like scavenging vultures to politicize things. The opposition is opposing NEET, keeping in mind the assembly elections in 2021. Thousands wrote the examination and did not find fault with it. Let children not be deceived by their words,” he said.
“There will be a BJP candidate for sure,” he said, in relation to the existing vacancy following the demise of Kanyakumari Lok Sabha MP H Vasanthakumar.
