Two Chennai residents die in road accident near Trichy

TRICHY: Two people from Chennai, including a woman, died and two others suffered injuries when a car they were travelling in rammed a truck near Pazhur in Trichy district on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as T Vijayalakshmi’s, 45, of Royapuram in Chennai, and R Siva, 30, a driver from Royapettah. Vijayalakshmi’s husband C Thirunamaperumal, 52, and her son T Vignesh, 22 suffered injuries in the accident.
They were going to Nagercoil to attend a family member's funeral.
The accident happened at 3.45pm when a truck moving in front of the car took a right turn. The car rammed the truck.
Vijayalakshmi and Siva were rushed to a nearby private hospital where they were declared brought dead. Thirunamaperumal and Vignesh were under treatment.
The Samayapuram police have taken up investigation and detained truck driver M Chelladurai, 35 of Manamadurai.
