COIMBATORE: The city will host a two-day international conference on sustainable cities on
Kumaraguru College of Technology and PSG
college campuses. The main objectives of the conference are to promote India-Israel research partnership between academic institutions in the area of sustainable cities, bring in the best of Israel’s sustainable cities technologies to India, and identify research opportunities that localizes the research and makes it relevant for Indian stakeholders.
To be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, the event would be attended by 15 delegates from two institutions in Israel, high tech farmers from Kongu region, NGOs and agro researchers, among others. The speakers will include
researchers in agriculture and water management domain from Israel and India.
According to Ravi Kandasamy, director of technical services, Kumaraguru College of Technology, the event would be organized jointly by four educational institutions.
The four education institutions are
Tel Aviv University in Israel;
Agricultural Research Organization, Volcani Center in Israel; Kumaraguru College of Technology; and PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
