Delhi cop killed as speeding vehicle hits patrol vehicle

A cop was killed and two others were injured when a Honda City car driven by a drunk man hit the Prakhar Patrol Vehicle near Maurice Nagar in north Delhi on Sunday night. The impact of the crash was such that the police's Mahindra Scorpio car toppled several times and landed on its roof.

The deceased cop has been identified as Wazir Singh (50) who was incharge of the PCR vehicle.
NEW DELHI: A cop was killed and two others were injured when a Honda City car driven by a drunk man hit the Prakhar Patrol Vehicle near Maurice Nagar in north Delhi on Sunday night. The impact of the crash was such that the police's Mahindra Scorpio car toppled several times and landed on its roof.
The incident happened at around 1.30am when the accused driver, Tushar was on his way towards Model Town at a high speed in his Honda City car.
He suddenly lost control near Maurice Nagar and rammed into the police vehicle at the Khalsa College crossing.
The deceased cop has been identified as Wazir Singh (50) who was incharge of the PCR vehicle.
The Honda City car too was badly damaged due to the impact. The killer driver too was severely injured due to the incident. Police have booked him under sections of culpable homicide (304 II IPC) and dangerous driving (279IPC).
