NEW DELHI:
North Delhi Municipal
Corporation has cleared the third party independent inspection by Quality Council of India (QCI) for the open-defecation free (ODF)
tag. Out of Delhi’s five local bodies—three corporations,
New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonment Board—the north corporation was the only local body without the
ODF tag.
Varsha Joshi, the commissioner of the corporation, said the QCI inspection was carried out on December 28.
“We have achieved this by working as a team and we should remain engaged as a team to keep up the momentum,” she said.
The corporation’s applications were rejected four times, the last time in August. TNN
