GURUGRAM: A Sector 66 resident was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a car on Golf Course Road near DLF-2 on Monday. His friend, who was riding pillion, also suffered injuries. An FIR has been registered against the car driver, who hasn’t been identified yet.
Sunil Kumar and Pawan Kumar, both in their 20s, were on the bike. Pawan, who does paint work, said he was going to Belvedere Park, DLF-2, along with his friend Sunil on Monday evening to take payment for some work he had done.
Sunil was driving.
“Near DLF-2, a car came speeding down and hit our motorcycle from behind. This threw the bike off balance and both of us fell on the road. The car sped off,” Pawan said in his statement to the police.
“I suffered injuries on my feet, but Sunil suffered serious injuries on his head. Blood was gushing out of his nose, mouth and ears,” he added.
Pawan took his friend to a private hospital with the help of a security guard standing nearby.
The police control room received a call from a passerby informing them about the accident. A team reached the spot and took the damaged motorcycle into custody. The police then reached the hospital and recorded the state of Pawan.
As Sunil’s condition deteriorated, doctors referred him to the Safdarjung hospital in Delhi. “Sunil died during treatment at the Safdarjung hospital on Tuesday,” said Pawan.

On Tuesday, the DLF-2 police station received a call from Pawan saying that his friend had succumbed to his injuries at Sardarjung hospital.
A case was registered under sections 279 (rash driving or riding in a public way), 304A (negligence causing death) and 336 (causing hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life) of the IPC.
“We have registered a case and are trying to identify the accused,” a police officer from DLF-2 police station said.
