Critical Covid patients in Gurgaon now just 5
Gurgaon: To tackle the spread of Covid-19, the health department has increased testing in the city, especially in Covid clusters.
“We have conducted 39,473 tests based on the rapid antigen testing methodology in Gurgaon. Out of 39,473 people tested using rapid antigen testing, 1,104 were positive,” said an official from the health department.
According to the health department data, 95,861 samples have been sent for testing till Monday, of which results of 85,183 turned out to be negative.
An official confirmed that 10,193 people have been tested in the last six days.
Faridabad that follows Gurgaon closely in terms of Covid cases has tested 54,635 people so far.
Meanwhile, 108 new cases were reported in the city on Monday, taking the tally to 8,720. As many as 150 more patients recovered on Monday taking the total recoveries in the city to 7,558, officials said.
The recovery rate in Gurgaon has now increased to 86.6% from 85% reported on Sunday.
The number of active cases decreased from 1,084 on Sunday to 1,042 on Monday. As per official data, a total of 919 patients are currently in home isolation and 30,857 people are currently under surveillance in the district.

Dr Jai Prakash, district surveillance officer, said that the number of critical patients in Gurgaon has now come down to five. The total tally of deaths is 120, of which 82 patients had comorbidities.
In Faridabad, 170 fresh Covid cases were reported on Monday, taking the tally to 7,931. With one death reported in Faridabad on Monday, the Covid death toll has now reached 124.
The Faridabad health department has tested 54,635 people so far.
While the number of Covid cases is more in Gurgaon, the number of Covid deaths is more in Faridabad.
Moreover, Faridabad is also ahead in terms of active cases. While Faridabad has 1,591 active Covid cases, Gurgaon has only 1,042 active cases.
