GURUGRAM: The Haryana
government on Friday revised the
treatment cost guidelines for
private hospitals treating
Covid-19 patients and said that those not covered under the three categories set by the government would have to pay more for their treatment.
According to officials the three categories are a government employee or his or her dependent, patients with private health insurance policy and those covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
“Government employees and their dependent can avail of treatment as per the existing reimbursement policy. People having health insurance would be charged as per the their individual policy and for those patients covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the government would reimburse the amount according to the scheme,” an official said.
A person who doesn’t fit into the three categories can approach the government health facility and he would be referred to a hospital by but would have to pay as per the hospital’s rate.
“We had guidelines regarding treatment rate earlier as well, however, we revised the instruction for more clarification,” said Rajiv Arora, Haryana additional chief secretary, health.
