KURUKSHETRA: The Kurukshetra police registered a case of murder against a couple who allegedly gave poison to a woman living separately from husband with her two minor children at a rented accommodation in Akash Nagar area of Thanesar city on Saturday.
The deceased woman has been identified as Pinky (30) of Bohli village in Kurukshetra district.
Pinky’s brother Lakhan lodged a complaint against accused Ganga Singh of Amin (Abhimanyupur) village and his wife alleging that they gave poison to his sister.

On the complaint of Lakhan, a case has been against Ganga and his wife under Section 34 (common intention) and 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Krishna Gate police station on Saturday.
Lakhan stated to the police, “About 10 years ago, my sister Pinky got married to Ravi of Ghadola village and they have two children (aged 6 and 8) from this marriage. Ravi became a drug addict, so Pinky started living separately at a rented accommodation in Akash Nagar area of Thanesar city from the past about three years with her both the children. Pinky developed a relationship with a married man Ganga Singh of Amin village, who was also addicted to alcohol. Ganga used to beat Pinky while demanding money for alcohol and she had disclosed this to our mother recently.”

“On August 8, my niece Shabnam called and informed that on August 7 at about 5pm, Ganga Singh and his wife had come to their home at Akash Nagar, where they made her drink some medicine in a bottle. Pinky started vomiting and died on the next day in the morning. We reached her house and rushed her to LNJP Hospital in Kurukshetra, where the doctor declared her dead,” further alleged Lakhan.
Krishna Gate police station house officer (SHO) sub-inspector (SI) Mange Ram said, “The deceased woman’s post-mortem has been conducted and the body handed over to the family for last rites on Sunday. We have registered a case and started the investigation. The arrests are pending.”
