Haryana: Man arrested for sexually assaulting 6-year-old girl

YAMUNANAGAR: The police here arrested a 22-year-old man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl of a colony in Yamunanagar city on Tuesday.
Arrested accused has been identified as Shubham of Yamunanagar, told the police.
On the complaint of the girl’s mother, a case has been registered against Shubham under Section 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Gandhi Nagar police station on Tuesday.
Gandhi Nagar SHO sub-inspector (SI) Bhupender Singh told, “Accused Shubham was presented in the court on Wednesday, which sent him to judicial custody and further investigation is being done.”
The complainant stated to the police, “On Tuesday afternoon, my daughter was taken to his house by accused Shubham on the pretext of a packet of chips. When I could not find the girl in the house, I searched for her outside in the street and asked accused Shubham who lives in our neighbour to open his door. My girl was found in a naked condition with a packet of chips in her hand at his house. I took the girl to our home, where she disclosed the ordeals with her.”
As per the information, the residents of the colony nabbed accused Shubham and handed him over to the police on Tuesday.
Gandhi Nagar SHO Singh said, “Accused Shubham has confessed committing crime and action will be taken against him as per law.”
