ROHTAK: Taking note of the June 13 incident when former lieutenant governor, Puducherry Chandrawati was not given a room in PGIMS Rohtak, vice-chancellor Dr O P Kalra has placed the chief medical officer on duty under suspension.
Veteran leader Chandrawati had to be admitted to a private hospital since there was no VIP room available at PGIMS Rohtak, where she went after sustaining a hip fracture in Charkhi Dadri.

When the matter came to light, a three-member panel was constituted for investigations. The panel found that chief medical officer Dr Kuldeep Singh, in-charge of the casualty ward, was missing from duty when the incident occurred.
Dr Sandeep, DMS, PGIMS Rohtak said the erring doctor was placed under suspension for six months on the orders of the vice-chancellor.
