Haryana: Shramik train ferries 1,607 labourers to Bihar from Ambala

A Shramik special train departed for Barauni in Bihar from Ambala Cantonment at 2 pm on Saturday, carrying 1,607 migrant labourers and 24 children to their home state.

Before their departure, CID ADGP Anil Kumar Rao talked to the labourers at the railway station in Ambala Cantt and listened to them before seeing them off to Bihar.
AMBALA: A Shramik special train departed for Barauni in Bihar from Ambala Cantonment at 2 pm on Saturday, carrying 1,607 migrant labourers and 24 children to their home state.
The migrant labourers were brought in by Haryana Roadways buses from Karnal district and sent to Barauni from Ambala.
Before their departure, CID ADGP Anil Kumar Rao talked to the labourers at the railway station in Ambala Cantt and listened to them before seeing them off to Bihar.

Karnal district’s Gharaunda sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Gaurav Kumar told, “A total of 1,607 migrant labourers and 24 children with them have been sent from Karnal district to Barauni in Bihar. On Saturday morning, they were brought to Ambala Cantt in Haryana Roadways buses. Before this, 1,247 labourers were sent from Karnal district to Katihar in Bihar on May 20.”
“They have been provided free train tickets, water bottles, masks, sanitizer and food. Before allowing them to board the train, they were screened with a thermal scanner by the health teams deputed at the railway station”, further added SDM Gaurav.
