KURUKSHETRA: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA)-1 of the
Kurukshetra police arrested a notorious criminal and recovered a country-made gun and live bullets from his possession on Wednesday.
The criminal was identified as Nirmal alias Bhullar of Ward Number 12 in Ladwa area of Kurukshetra district. Bhullar was was wanted in half a dozen criminal cases. Bhullar was nabbed from near his village following a tip-off.
On the complaint of a police officer, a case against under Section 25-54-59 (punishment for certain offences and renewal of licenses) of the Arms Act has been registered against him at Ladwa police station.
“Our team was patrolling in Ladwa area when they received the tip-off about Nirmal. He was wanted in a case of murder registered at Ladwa police station. CIA-1 arrested him along with illicit arms,” Kurukshetra SP Astha Modi said.
“During the preliminary investigation, Bhullar has confessed to his involvement in several crimes in Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar, further investigation is being done. On Thursday, he was presented before the court which sent him to 14-day judicial custody,” CIA-1 SHO Gurwinder Singh said.
