Minister inaugurates MRI scan facility on PPP mode in Ambala

Haryana cabinet minister Anil Vij inaugurated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan facility built at a cost of about Rs 6 crore on public-private partnership (PPP) mode at the civil hospital, Ambala Cantonment on Saturday.

The facility will benefit the residents as there was no MRI scan facility in any government hospital at Ambala so far.
AMBALA: Haryana cabinet minister Anil Vij inaugurated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan facility built at a cost of about Rs 6 crore on public-private partnership (PPP) mode at the civil hospital, Ambala Cantonment on Saturday.
The facility will benefit the residents as there was no MRI scan facility in any government hospital at Ambala so far.
Speaking to mediapersons, Vij, said, “The MRI scan machine has been installed here under the PPP mode.
It is of advanced technology and can perform all types of MRIs. It takes less time as compared to other machines. It can also perform an MRI of a child of pregnant women. It can also perform MRI of the heart in case of heart diseases. Along with this, brain MRI can also be done in five minutes. It has an open front kit to help the claustrophobic patients. A total of 50 to 60 different types of MRIs can be done with this machine.”
He also said that this facility will be free for scheduled caste (SC) residents and below poverty line (BPL) cardholders, regular government employees and pensioners of Haryana state and their expenditure will be borne by the state government.
“The rates of all the MRI tests are different and set by the government and are much lower than the market price”, said Vij.
He added, “All modern medical facilities are being made available to the people here under one roof. The CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound, heart center, dialysis, modular operation theater facilities are already being made available and now an MRI facility has been added to this episode.”
He also said that a cancer hospital is being built at Ambala Cantt the building for which is ready, and installation of machines will be done soon. He said along with this, work of 200-bed hospital is also going on fast and by the end of this year, these facilities will be made available to the people after completion of both the projects.
