GURUGRAM: A district revenue officer, two naib tehsildars and a police sub-inspector, among others, have been booked for allegedly selling a plot acquired by the government in Garhi Harsaru to an individual with forged documents. Pammi Devi, a resident of Rewari, said she purchased a 106sq yd plot in Harsaru village for Rs 19 lakh from Anita Devi, a resident of Sadhrana village, three years ago.
The sale deed of the plot was executed at Harsuru tehshil office in November 2017.
However, Pammi later found that mutation of the plot couldn’t be done because it had already been acquired by the state government in 2016 and the registry had been executed with forged documents. “Anita and her husband, in collusion with tehsil officials, got the sale deed registered by fabricating documents,” she said.
Following this, she filed a complaint with the Gurgaon deputy commissioner in 2018. The matter was forwarded to SDM (north) for investigation. Based on the SDM’s report, the computer operators involved were dismissed in September and disciplinary action was taken against the clerks. “An FIR was registered against Anita, but no legal action was taken against the revenue officials,” Pammi said.
She finally approached court last month. Additional district and sessions judge Ashwani Kumar on Monday directed that an FIR be lodged against the revenue and cops involved, following which Gurgaon district revenue officer Vijay Yadav, Garhi Harsaru tehsil registration clerks Davinder Singh and Kapil Kumar, naib tehsildars Om Parkash and Prakashveer, Harsaru halqa patwari Surender and sub-inspector Satpal were booked under IPC sections 93 (communication made in good faith), 166 (knowingly disobeying the law), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and Prevention of Corruption Act at Sector 10 police station on Wednesday.
