Hyderabad: Teenage girl commits suicide

HYDERABAD: A 17-year-old pregnant girl, who went missing four days ago, was found floating in Himayathsagar lake in Hyderabad on Saturday.
According to RGI Airport police, the girl was in a relationship with a married man
The police registered a case against the man, who sexually abused her.
Officials said that it was on August 4, she went missing and her parents lodged a complaint by raising a suspicion against the man, who allegedly impregnated her.
On Saturday, based on the information given by locals about the floating of a dead body in the lake, police reached the spot and brought the body to the shore.
With the information available about the missing girl details, they contacted the parents of the missing teenage girl, who identified the body and confirmed it was their daughter.
"The teenage girl did not leave any suicide note. However, her family members suspect that since the kin of the man, with who she was in a relationship, were unwilling to accept for their marriage, she committed suicide," the police said.
They both belong to different castes and the accused is already a married man. Since the accused allegedly sexually abused the victim, he was booked her Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
