HYDERABAD: Congress high command is likely to appoint a new president for Telangana Congress replacing N Uttam Kumar Reddy soon.
A senior AICC leader said the party had begun consultations on effecting the change of guard in Telangana. “A concrete action is likely to be taken only after the Delhi assembly election results. For now, focus of the leadership is on Delhi polls,” he said.
Among those in the race to become the new TPCC president include AICC secretary G Chinna Reddy, former minister and MLA D Sridhar Babu, former minister and Bhuvanagiri MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, TPCC working president A Revanth Reddy, AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao, former MP Madhu Yashki Goud, MLC Jeevan Reddy, former CLP leader K Jana Reddy, former deputy chief minister Damodar Raja Narasimha and AICC secretaries Vamshi Chand Reddy and SA Sampath Kumar.

For now, the party leadership has asked Revanth, J Kusum Kumar and Hanumantha Rao, among others, to campaign in constituencies of Delhi where population of Telugu-speaking people is sizeable.
Andhra Association of Delhi president R Muni Naidu told TOI that there are eight lakh Telugu-speaking people spread all over Delhi. They mainly live in the 13 assembly constituencies of RK Puram, Patpargunj, New Delhi, Shahdara, Vishwas Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, Rajinder Nagar, Delhi Cantonment, Dwarka, Janakpuri, Bijwasan, Hari Nagar and Sultanpur.
