Release pending GST arrears, TRS MP Nama Nageshwar Rao tells Centre

HYDERABAD: TRS Lok Sabha MP Nama Nageshwar Rao has demanded the Centre to release about Rs 5,000 crore pending GST and IGST arrears to the state government. Raising the issue during question hour in Lok Sabha on Monday, the floor leader said that the Centre has not been releasing pending arrears of taxes and mandatory taxes share.
“The state government has expressed its concern on pending GST and IGST arrears on several occasions.Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has met the prime minister and other union ministers earlier seeking release of funds but there has been response from Centre,” Rao said. He said several welfare schemes are getting affected due to the lack of funds from Centre. Rao urged the Centre to release pending funds to the state immediately.
