Take cue from Kerala, stop all NPR work : Asaduddin Owaisi

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi urged chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to take a cue from the Kerala government and put on hold all work connected to updating the National Population Register (NPR). He made the statement during a protest meeting against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) held at AIMIM party headquarters at Darussalam, late on Saturday night.

HYDERABAD: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi urged chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to take a cue from the Kerala government and put on hold all work connected to updating the National Population Register (NPR). He made the statement during a protest meeting against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) held at AIMIM party headquarters at Darussalam, late on Saturday night.
“I want to thank Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for ensuring that teh Telangana Rashtra Samithi voted against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha,” said Owaisi, adding, “However, I request the chief minister to take a cue from the Kerala government and stay all works related to National Population Register.”
He also requested the Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy to rethink his decision about extending his support to the central government and calling Bharatiya Janata Party a friend.
“I request Jaganmohan Reddy, who is my friend even now, to withdraw his support for BJP. Please reconsider your decision. I understand you need to run a state, but Bharat needs to be saved. When Bharat becomes strong only then will the state remain. This fight is for the country. I request Andhra Pradesh CM to reconsider his decision,” said Owaisi.
Students, party legislators, scholars and members from Human Rights Commission attended the meeting.
