Telangana Congress slams ruling TRS for naming park, housing colony after CM, KTR

HYDERABAD: The Congress has lambasted the TRS government for naming parks and housing colonies after chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and municipal minister KT Rama Rao while ignoring the names of several prominent national and state level leaders including those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of statehood to Telangana.
All India Congress Committee secretary and former MLA Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy on Wednesday ridiculed the ruling TRS for naming projects after leaders who are alive.Referring to one of the country’s largest eco park in Mahbubnagar district being named after CM KCR as “KCR Urban Eco Park,” Vamshi Chand Reddy said it is an insult to prominent late leaders from Telangana.

“Are KCR and KTR suffering from narcissistic personality disorder. The Mayuri Park in Mahbubnagar was not only named after KCR two days ago but it was also inaugurated by his son and municipal minister KT Rama Rao. The ruling TRS is setting a bad precedent,” Vamshi Chand Reddy said.
Referring to a double bedroom housing colony in Veerannapalli being named after KT Rama Rao, the Congress leader said even this “KTR Nagar” in Mahbubnagar was inaugurated by KTR himself a couple of days ago.
Stating that the previous government always used to name projects after prominent late leaders, Vamshi gave examples of Nehru Zoological Park, Indira park, Kasu Brahmananda Reddy park, Jalagam Vengal Rao park, NTR gardens to name a few.
“There are so many intellectuals, great leaders, and Telangana martyrs from Mahabubnagar district. The names of KCR and KTR should be immediately withdrawn from the park and housing colony respectively. These two projects should be named after well-known leaders from Mahbubnagar including Suravaram Pratap Reddy, Mahendranath and S Jaipal Reddy,” demanded Vamshi Chand Reddy.
