HYDERABAD: A 40-year-old woman, who runs a family owned
chicken shop, was murdered by her brother-in-law in
Manuguru Town in
Bhadradri-Kothagudem district on Saturday morning.
The woman was attacked while she was entering into her house, with a bucket of water which she collected nearby her residence.

MA Shukur said that at 7.50am the victim Habeeba Begum went to get water from a common municipal water tap, which is about 50 meters from her residence.
"When she was about to enter her house, her husband’s elder brother Ibrahim came from behind and stabbed her on her neck. He stabbed her twice before he fled away from the location," police said.
At the time of incident, her husband went to their chicken shop to clean it. During the investigation police came to know that Ibrahim has dispute with the victim, since she was allegedly intervening in the
financial dispute which he has with her husband.
Ibrahim’s mother before she died, deposited some amount in bank in the name of Habeeba’s husband and told him that after the amount is matured it should be shared equally among her four children. At the time of maturity, the total amount was Rs 8 lakhs.
"The matured amount was shared with each brother getting a share of Rs 2 lakhs. But the accused Ibrahim has been demanding Habeeba’s family to pay him Rs 2 lakhs more. On this issue there has been dispute. Since Habeeba has been strongly opposing the accused’s demand, she was killed,’’ police added.
A case murder case was registered against the accused, who is still at large.
