Rajasthan home department forbids use of manjha

The state's home department on Friday prohibited use of manjha for kite flying. Additional chief secretary (ACS), Home, Rajeeva Swarup wrote to all district magistrates and police commissioners of Jaipur and Jodhpur in this regard.

JAIPUR: The state's home department on Friday prohibited use of manjha for kite flying. Additional chief secretary (ACS), Home, Rajeeva Swarup wrote to all district magistrates and police commissioners of Jaipur and Jodhpur in this regard. It has been directed to ensure that kite flying is avoided from 6am to 8am and 5pm to 7pm.
Swarup asked the officials concerned to ensure that due publicity is given, particularly, before Makar Sankranti and sale of such banned material should be stopped for the purpose of kite flying.
