Rajasthan: Narrow escape for rider

JAIPUR: A major tragedy was avoided on Hawa Sadak in Jaipur when a road roller driver lost control of his vehicle, breaking past the safety barriers at a construction site which toppled over a two-wheeler. While the rider managed to escape without any injuries, the vehicle was damaged.
The scooter rider Giriraj Lal (23) was his way from Sodala to his residence in Jyoti Nagar on Friday morning when the freak accident happened.
“The road roller hit the safety barrier at the construction site of the elevated road. The barrier fell on the two-wheeler and came under the road roller. The scooter rider suffered minor injuries and was taken SMS Hospital from where he was given treatment. The rider was extremely lucky that he got away with just minor injuries in what could have been a fatal accident. The scooter was damaged due to heavy weight of the barriers and the vehicle. If the rider had not managed to escape in time, there are high chances that he would not have survived,” said an official of the accident police station (south). The scooter was taken out after some heavy lifting.
