Three-day Bundelkhand lit fest begins in Jhansi

The first Bundelkhand Literature Festival began at the Craft Fair ground near the Jhansi fort on Friday. More than two dozen literary figures from the fields of Hindi and Bundeli literature, dramatics, journalism, cinema and TV will hold discussions on various aspects of Bundeli and Hindi literature, culture and ways to promote it during the three-day event.

JHANSI: The first Bundelkhand Literature Festival began at the Craft Fair ground near the Jhansi fort on Friday. More than two dozen literary figures from the fields of Hindi and Bundeli literature, dramatics, journalism, cinema and TV will hold discussions on various aspects of Bundeli and Hindi literature, culture and ways to promote it during the three-day event.
The inaugural session was presided over by Bundelkhand University vice-chancellor Prof JV Vaishampayan while the chief guest was Jhansi divisional commissioner Shubhash Chandra Sharma.
Prominent personalities including, Maitri Pushpa, Kailash Marwariya, Raja Bundela, also attended the event.
Sharma said Jhansi was blessed to have the rich legacy of Rani Laxmibai and added that the literature festival would add to the city’s glory.
Prof JV Vaishampayan said, “Bundelkhand is one of the richest places as far as culture, literature and valour are concerned.”
