8 get life imprisonment for killing four-wheeler drivers
Kanpur: Additional district and sessions judge (XX) Kanpur Nagar Anil Kumar Kharwar on Thursday sentenced eight members of the gang involved in murdering drivers and looting their vehicles to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 35,000 on each.
The convicts were identified as Neelu Tripathi alias Ashish, Ravi Kumar Balmiki alias Baba, Raju alias Rajendra, Amit Kumar alias Shanu, Mohd Nafees, Babu alias Ajay Katiyar, Vinay Katiyar and Manoj Katiyar.

The court issued a non-bailable warrant against accused Manoj for not being present when the court delivered the judgment.
According to ADGC (criminal) Kailash Narayan Shukla, the accused had booked a loader (Chhota Hathi) owned by one Satish Kumar, a resident of Damodar Nagar under Barra police on October 8, 2011.
The accused killed driver Rajesh Kureel when he was going to the booked destination and threw his dead body near Mandhana and looted the loader.
Police after investigation arrested Neelu Tripathi and Ravi Kumar Valmiki in the case. The accused, during interrogation, revealed and admitted that they were member of the gang which used to book four-wheelers. The gang members kill drivers and then loot vehicle, they said.
