KANPUR: A 14-year-old rape accused allegedly hanged himself from a tree in his village under the Baraur police station of Kanpur Dehat district on late on Thursday night.
As per the sources, the police, after registering a case against the youth, had raided his house on late Thursday night to detain him, but the boy was found to be missing from his house.

According to the police, on Thursday an FIR was registered against the minor for allegedly raping a minor girl under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The youth was missing since then, said the police.
Police said, “His family members though that the boy will return after sometime but later his body was found hanging from a neem tree in the village.”
Inspector Baraur Digvijay Singh said, “An FIR was registered against him following a complaint by a girl’s mother on Thursday. A police team had visited his house to question him regarding the same on Thursday evening. The boy, however, hanged himself from a tree on late Thursday night.”
The girl has been sent for medical examination.
