LUCKNOW: A joint team of two senior officials of UPSRTC, CGM (technical) and GM (operations), on Tuesday gave its report on Banda accident that took place on Monday in which nine persons were killed and 17 others were left injured after a truck collided head on with a roadways bus.
The report said road signage on the accident spot were not found. The road was on a curve and there could have been reflective road signs indicating a curve ahead and speed limits on the highway.
It should be declared a 'black spot' for road safety purposes and must ensure all necessary road safety measures.

The statements given by injured passengers of the bus have clearly stated that the truck was overspeeding and lost control, ramming the bus from right side in a diagonal direction, which indicated wrong trajectory of the truck.
In the bus, speed-limiting device and vehicle tracking system were found to be fully functional.
The driver was found to be mentally and physically fit, and had no past record of any accident.
