KOCHI:
District administration has decided to close Ernakulam market in view of two colleagues of a
Thrissur native, who was tested positive earlier, contracted the virus. The containment comes into effect at 12 on Wednesday morning.
Shops and establishments situated from St Francis Cathedral in

Convent Junction and Public library in the south will remain closed. Shops situated in places from Broadway on the west side to TD road in the East will also shut.
The decision on this was taken at the meeting convened by district collector S Suhas after health officials reported that two more people, who came in contact with the
Thrissur native tested positive for Covid-19.
The Thrissur native working in an electrical shop was tested positive on June 27 and his source of infection was unknown. Following this, the shop down shutters and his four colleagues were placed under quarantine at the same building itself. This forced the authorities to declare 100-meter radius of division 67 of Kochi corporation as containment zone. His colleague, a 31-year-old Kasaragod native and 42-year-old Palakkad native were tested positive on Tuesday. It has been learned that his two more colleagues have developed symptoms of Covid.
