LUCKNOW: In a step to promote 'ease of doing business' and encourage loading of goods, Lucknow division of
North Eastern Railway (NER) has set up a '
business development council'.
The council will reach out to
traders' groups, individuals and institutions involved in various kinds of businesses, to develop a
co-ordination and communication.
Railways is aiming to double the loading of goods at the division by 2024 to increase the revenue. DRM, NER,
Monica Agnihotri, said, "The council will also seek suggestions from traders and businessmen and work to implement the same."
The council has officials from the departments concerned as members.
One of the main objectives of the council is to also make people aware about the facilities railways extends to traders and business groups.
