PATIALA: In the last two days, the district police have booked some inmates of Patiala Central Jail under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Prisons Act after confiscating 10 mobiles phones and drug packets from their possession.
Cases against the accused have been registered on the complaint of assistant superintendents Charan Singh and Harbans Lal.

During a raid, the officials seized mobile phones and 27 pouches of narcotic substance, seven grams of sulpha.
On Wednesday too, Tripuri police registered three separate cases under various sections of the Prisons Act and the NDPS Act after recovering mobiles and drugs from some jail inmates.
The jail authorities also claimed to seize 24 pouches of narcotic powder.
A week ago, the jail authorities registered a case against a jail inmate after seizing a mobile phone and drugs from his possession.
Notably, as many as 144 cases under the NDPS Act and Prison Act have been registered between 2007 and 2018.
Similarly, as many as 294 mobile phones have been confiscated from Patiala Central Jail between 2007 and 2018.
