Deputy commissioner Girish Dayalan said, “We have issued directions to all the chemists to produce data of those purchasing medicines for treatment of fever and flu. Directions have also been given to the police to monitor chemists of their respective jurisdictions.”
He suggested appointment of a dedicated Covid prevention monitor to ensure compliance at every private institution where many people are expected to come. He also asked the DCs to take steps for distribution of masks free of cost to the needy, and also make sanitisers and mask vending machines available at public places. Mohali civil surgeon Dr Manjit Singh said that all the districts across the state are fighting the coronavirus crisis. Challenges faced by Mohali as a district are far more than others, he said. Being an integral part of the Tricity, he said, there is a continuous movement of people to and fro from Panchkula (Haryana), Chandigarh and even from Himachal Pradesh.
