Last Faridkot’s ruler’s daughter files case against 23 people for forging will

In another twist to the long-drawn succession battle at erstwhile Faridkot State, now Faridkot’ last Maharaja late Harinder Singh’ daughter Amrit Kaur has filed a complaint of forging Maharaja’ will against 23 persons including Jai Chand Mehtab of Burdwan estate as chairman of Mehrawal Khewa Ji Trust, late princess Deepinder Kaur’ daughter Nisha and office bearers of the trust.

BATHINDA: In another twist to the long-drawn succession battle at erstwhile Faridkot State, now Faridkot’ last Maharaja late Harinder Singhdaughter Amrit Kaur has filed a complaint of forging Maharaja’ will against 23 people, including Jai Chand Mehtab of Burdwan estate as chairman of Mehrawal Khewa Ji Trust, late princess Deepinder Kaur’ daughter Nisha and office bearers of the trust.
Acting on the complaint a case u/s 420(cheating) 465(forgery) 467(forgery of valuable security) 468(forgery for purpose of cheating) 471(using as genuine a forged document) and 120B(criminal conspiracy) has been registered against 23 people at Faridkot police station.

Amrit Kaur in her complaint made to the police have alleged that these people, including members of the royal family, lawyers forged her father's will in 1989 to divest her of rights in the property, which is pegged at thousands of crores.
The Punjab and Haryana high court only recently in order had allowed princess Amrit Kaur as successor and had allowed a share in the property after a long legal battle.
