Medical colleges to provide facilites on a par with PGI: Soni
Ludhiana: Punjab medical education and research minister O P Soni on Saturday said medical colleges and hospitals in Patiala and Amritsar would soon provide medical and healthcare facilities on a par with the PGI, Chandigarh.
Soni was here to attend a function organised at Greenland Senior Secondary School. MLA Sanjay Talwar was also present on the occasion.

While speaking to mediapersons, Soni said Amarinder Singh-led Punjab government was committed to strengthen the healthcare, education and basic infrastructure in the state.
He said sincere efforts were being made for transformation of prominent colleges and hospitals so that they provide best health care facilities.
He said the state government also ensured that there was no shortage of doctors in the state.
While replying to a question related to increased pollution levels, he said the air pollution levels in the state were on the rise for the last few days, but the Punjab government was making efforts to check the same and provide relief.
He said only farmers could not be blamed for causing air pollution. He also appealed them to not burn paddy straw and instead adopt techniques for in-situ management of crop residue.

He said for cleaning and beautification of the Buddha Nullah, the state government had prepared a detailed project report and work on it would start soon.
He also paid tributes to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha on his martyrdom day.
NCC cadets of the school gave guard of honour to O P Soni.
While addressing students, the cabinet minister stressed on the need to save our rich heritage and culture.
Principal Baldeep Kaur Pandher read out the annual report of the school.
School students also presented a cultural function on the occasion.
Dr Rajesh Kundra, chairman-cum-director of Greenland Schools, presented a vote of thanks.
