Punjab: Father booked for raping 11-year-old daughter for 4 years

PATIALA: The police have booked a middle-aged man under sections of IPC including rape and sections of POCSO Act for allegedly raping his 11-year-old daughter for last four years.
The case has been registered with the Bhadson police station on the complaint of rape survivor’s mother. The police have identified the accused as a resident of Kansuha village in Bhadson block of the district.The police have also got recorded the statement of the rape survivor who alleged that her father had been raping her since she was eight-year-old. The police said that the matter came to light after the rape survivor complained of a pain in her abdomen to her mother and then revealed the entire story of her ordeal. The rape survivor had told the police that her father used to rape her in the absence of her mother, who used to go out to a religious place for some time as part of her routine.
The police have arrested the accused after registering a case against him under various sections of IPC including Section 376 AB and 506 and Section 6 of POCSO Act 2012. The police revealed that the accused is the father of three children including a son and two daughters while the rape survivor was their second child.
“We have arrested the accused father of the rape survivor who is in trauma and her counselling is underway. The medical examination of the rape survivor has been conducted. The accused will be produced in the court for the next action and we will also file his challan in the court within a week," said station house officer of Bhadson police station.
