inquiry into the
death under suspicious circumstances of
Shreyas was moving at a snail’s pace.
Pramod and others met Udupi SP Nisha James along with the parents of Shreyas on Tuesday. Shreyas,19, resident of Hosur, Brahmavar, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Madisalu stream on November 5.
Even after a month, there is no progress into the investigation.
The victim’s mother alleged that under the pretext of catching fish, a few people whom she has named had taken her son along with them, while he was studying at home. They later murdered him, she alleged.
Pramod Madhwaraj said that he had called the SP on the day of incident. “She had assured to conduct an impartial inquiry into the case. However, so far there has been no progress in the investigation,” he said
The SP told the former MLA that the police are taking the case seriously. She said that they are waiting for the FSL reports from Bengaluru, and the investigation will be expedited once they get it. “We will not succumb to any political pressure or influence. The department will ensure justice for the victim’s family by conducting a fair investigation,” she said.
