MANGALURU: Chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Saturday dismissed the videos of the Mangaluru violence released by former CM HD Kumaraswamy as a 'cut-and-paste job'.
After paying his last respects to historian Chidananda Murthy here on Saturday, Yediyurappa said: "There's no need to comment on the videos. It's only a cut-and-paste job."
Meanwhile, in Mangaluru, city police commissioner PS Harsha refuted the charges and said police acted only after a violent mob violated Section 144.

"On December 19 when Section 144 was in force, a violent mob violated the rules and tried to create a ruckus. Police on duty successfully brought the situation under control by taking action as per the law. Video clippings of the violence were uploaded on the official Facebook page of Mangaluru City Police. We received a large number of video clippings from the public. Recently some clippings have been released to the media by changing the sequence and context," Harsha said.
He added that one will get a clear picture of the incident only if he watches videos completely instead of watching select footage. "It's necessary that the videos be watched completely in sequence and context. Since a CID probe and magisterial inquiry are in, all evidence will be submitted to them. The truth will be out after the investigation," Harsha said.
Meanwhile, RDPR minister KS Eshwarappa said Kumaraswamy has been always known to release doctored CDs. "The videos have been edited to mislead people. HDK is CDK given the number of CDs he releases," said Eshwarappa.
Kumaraswamy, who released 35 video clips related to the Mangaluru violence, had demanded the suspension of the police commissioner and also sought a house committee to probe the incident.
