MUMBAI: NCP leader and state
housing minister Jitendra Awhad was admitted to the Fortis hospital in Mulund on Tuesday night after he complained of fever and uneasiness.
He was first taken to a hospital in Thane but was later shifted to Fortis hospital.
The hospital administration refused to comment on whether the leader had tested positive for coronavirus. They, however, confirmed that he had been admitted in the critical care unit and was being looked after by a team of doctors.
A senior NCP leader said that the family of the Thane based minister is very disturbed and doesn’t want anyone to give details about Awhad’s health.
“We are in touch with the family and the hospital. His health is being monitored by senior party leaders as well,” said a cabinet minister.
Meanwhile, the
Maharashtra government on Wednesday issued an order appointing cabinet minister Datta Bharne as the guardian minister of Solapur in place of Awhad.
