Leopard caught in snare dies

Mysuru: A leopard caught in a snare died at Panchavalli village in Hunsur taluk on Sunday.
The big cat, believed to be about 5-years-old, was spottedby villagers on Hunsur- Virajpet road near Nagarahole Tiger Reserve.
The villagers informed the foresters, who in turn rushed to the spot and untangled the wire from the carcass.
All the canines were found intact in the carcass during post-mortem, said forest officials.
It may have been caught in snare laid to trap wild boars which raid the farms and destroy crops, they added.
