NMC begins to develop rose garden

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has started to develop a rose garden at Bharat Mata-Ambedkar Udyan situated on Central Avenue at Lakadganj in East Nagpur. The move is as per directives of mayor Sandip Joshi and municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe.
The NMC garden department under deputy commissioner Amol Chorpagar has started to plant rose plants in the garden in a systematic manner.Various species of rose like yellow rose, summer flow rose, double delight, first prize, black lady etc were planted in the garden. The garden has started to bloom with rose plants and lot of flowers on it.
Joshi had directed the department to ensure proper maintenance of all gardens during ‘Walk and Talk With Mayor’. Immediately after assuming charge, Mundhe directed the department to ensure gardens become loveable and peaceful places for citizens.
Accordingly, the garden department has ensured appointment of private agencies for operation and maintenance of all gardens.
The department is planning to develop existing gardens in a concept-wise manner like rose garden in Bharat Mata-Ambedkar Udyan in the coming days.
