Kartik Sahare bagged a five-wicket haul as Deshonnati shocked former champions Hitavada by 33
runs in the first Super Six match of the OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket tournament at the Ambedkar College ground here on Saturday.
The 22nd edition of the
tourney is being organized in association with SBI and
HCL Technologies.
Opting to bat, Deshonnati put up a challenging total of 134 for 6 in 20 overs on the board.
Atul Kharad struck an unbeaten 25. Sandeep Ganar (22) and Sandeep Dhamde (19) were other main scorers.
Susheem Koley and Shrikant Bhalerao picked up two wickets each.
Hitavada were bundled out for 101 in 17.2 overs as they could not handle Sahare's (5-24) spin. Dhamde and Rajesh Mishra took two wickets each. Secretary of Nagpur District Badminton Association Mangesh Kashikar presented Kingsway man-of-the-match award to Sahare.
