NAVI MUMBAI: The BJP will counter the ‘unrealistic and unnatural’ alliance government of Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP, said BJP national president J P Nadda on Sunday, addressing cadres at a state-level conclave in the run-up to civic polls in Navi Mumbai and Aurangabad.
The BJP president advised cadres to play the role of serious grassroot-level workers to provide a responsible opposition and turn adversity into opportunity.
"…it is a fight of one versus all to come back to power," he added. He hailed the Centre’s initiatives on triple talaq, Article 370 and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which, he said, became a reality because of the massive mandate in favour of Modi-II.
“We have not targeted any religion and it was our moral responsibility to abolish triple talaq since it does not exist in Muslim countries like Syria, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Similarly, nobody in the opposition has tangible answers to our questions on loopholes in CAA,” said Nadda.
Speaking on Jammu and Kashmir, he said now the people of this region will send representatives from the tribal community to Vidhan Sabha, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and this was made possible due to the abrogation of Article 370, which helped provide reservation for tribals.
Criticizing the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, Nadda said, “People’s mandate in Maharashtra has been insulted by Shiv Sena. And it was done for personal interest. We will hold protests against this unnatural alliance…” He also advised party workers that politics was a full time job. The BJP, he said, is the world's largest political force with 17 crore documented members besides 303 members in Lok Sabha and 82 in Rajya Sabha.
Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil whose appointment was formalised at the conclave railed against the MVA saying it is an unethical alliance formed against the wishes of the people.
