Bus row: Congress, BJP hit out at each other
NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: A day after buses arranged by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were not allowed to cross the border by the Yogi Adityanath government, the Congress and BJP lashed out at each other.
While Congress said their bus plan met with stiff resistance from the administration, the BJP said it was all a ‘political gimmick’. “Since we did not get any cooperation from police and local administration, we had no option but to ask drivers to leave from DND.
We will continue to help migrants,” GB Nagar Congress president Manoj Chaudhary said.
The buses had been kept on standby, Ghaziabad Congress president Bijendra Yadav said, adding that party workers had been booked in fake cases by Noida police.
BJP functionaries said Congress only wanted publicity. Ghaziabad party chief Sanjeev Sharma said, “Had they been interested in really helping the government, they should have arranged buses in Rajasthan and Maharashtra first.”
