NOIDA: Water supply to high rise buildings located in 7X sectors of the city has been hit due to restoration work on the Ganga water pipeline. Owing to electrical work, heavy machines had damaged a portion of the pipeline. Officials said that normal supply will resume Thursday evening onwards.
In the coming fortnight, however, brief disruption in water supply is in the offing. Due to the construction of Sector 71 underpass, the existing network of regular borewell water pipeline, as well as Ganga water pipeline, will have to be displaced from the current location.
A loop has to be created to lay down the pipeline around the underpass for which supply will have to be cut for a brief period.
Meanwhile, thousands of residents staying in apartment complexes such as Prateek Wisteria, Hyde Park, Antariksh Golf View I and II and JM Aroma and JM Orchid faced issued with water supply on Tuesday and Wednesday as well.
Secretary of federation of apartment owners’ association, Rajesh Sahay said that the problem is acute in sector 74, 75, 77 and 78. “Residents are storing water in tanks since water supply has been intermittent. Families staying on higher floors are facing more problems,” said Sahay.
The officer on special duty of Noida Authority, Avinash Tripathi said some days back during some maintenance work being done on underground utilities near Baba Balak Nath temple, the Ganga water line was damaged. “The line was fixed but it requires more work before the road is paved again on the stretch,” added Tripathi. Meanwhile, work on the creation of the loop is also on at the underpass.
