Bihar: Woman raped in Samastipur, minor gang-raped in Saran

A 35-year-old married woman was raped in Samastipur, while a 13-year-old girl was reportedly kidnapped and subsequently gang-raped in Saran district late on Monday evening.

PATNA: A 35-year-old married woman was raped in Samastipur, while a 13-year-old girl was reportedly kidnapped and subsequently gang-raped in Saran district late on Monday evening.
In both the incidents, the survivors are struggling for their lives as the offenders brutally assaulted them. Reports reaching the state police headquarters said that a married woman was waylaid and raped at a village under the Ujiarpur police station area in Samastipur district when she was returning from a flour mill.
A 22-year-old youth, Rahul Kumar, took advantage of her being alone and raped her in a nearby maize field.
The offender also damaged her one of the eyes when she resisted the rape. She narrated her ordeal to her family members who admitted her to the sub-divisional hospital at Dalsinghsarai. Later she was referred to the sadar hospital at Samastipur for treatment.
The SHO of Ujiarpur police station Shambhu Nath Singh said that the accused was arrested on Tuesday. The survivor's statement would be recorded once her condition improves. Prima facie the incident appeared to be true and the victim is undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Samastipur.
In Saran, a 13-year-old girl was reportedly kidnapped and subsequently gang-raped under Dariapur police station on Monday night. A complaint has been lodged with the women's police station on the survivor's statement. Saran SP Har Kishore Rai said the allegations against the accused were being verified. TNN
