Conduct oxygen-level tests at all Covid-19 testing centres, Nitish Kumar asks health officials

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Friday asked the health officials to make arrangements for conducting oxygen-level tests at all the Covid-19 testing centres, besides increasing the number of RT-PCR and TrueNAT tests across the state.

PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Friday asked the health officials to make arrangements for conducting oxygen-level tests at all the Covid-19 testing centres, besides increasing the number of RT-PCR and TrueNAT tests across the state.
Holding a review meeting on Covid-19 at ‘Nek Samvad’ hall at his residence, he further asked the health officials to ensure Covid-19 testing for all those people who desire such testing.
“Also ensure availability of sufficient number of kits at all the covid-19 testing centres,” the CM said.
Principal Secretary (health) Pratyay Amrit informed the CM that the number of Covid-19 tests had increased to 71,520 on Friday from 28,624 on July 31. “Number of Covid-19 testing is being increased every day in the state and all necessary preventive steps are being taken to save people from the infection,” Amrit said.
CM also asked for conducting Covid-19 testing of all those people who are reaching to the relief centres in flood-affected areas for taking foods
State’s health minister Mangal Pandey, all divisional commissioners, all range IGs / DIGs of police, all district magistrates and all SPs were connected with the CM through video conferencing during the review meeting.
After reviewing the status of availability of beds in the district hospitals by interacting with a number of the DMs, CM asked the officials to develop intensive care units (ICUs) in all district hospitals and increase the number of beds in proportion to the population of the respective districts.

The CM further asked the officials to increase the number of beds at all dedicated Covid hospitals and also ensure supply of oxygen through pipeline up to the maximum number of beds.
He said special attention should be given to those districts which have the maximum number Covid-19’s active patients.
He also asked the health officials to introduce an attractive incentive for plasma donors so that a large number of people turn up to donate plasma for plasma therapy.
CM asked the officials to review the number of testing on population of every one lakh and also evaluate percentage of infection among the tested people.
