PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Monday said whatever happened with Patna SP Vinay Tiwari in Mumbai in Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput case was not right.
He also said that he would not speak to Maharashtra CM over the issue because it was not a political matter.

Nitish was reacting over "forcible quarantining" of Bihar cadre IPS officer Tiwari by Mumbai civic authorities on Monday while coming out of a state government’s event at the Rajdhani Vatika in Patna.

Tiwari reached Mumbai on Sunday afternoon to lead Patna police’s investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. "However, Tiwari was forcibly quarantined by authorities around 11pm hours after reaching the Maharashtra capital. The IPS officer is now unable to move around in Mumbai," said the Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey in a tweet.

When media persons asked for his reaction over "forcible quarantining" of Patna SP in Mumbai, Nitish said, "On the behalf of our government, our DGP Gupteshwar Pandey has given full information about the incident. He will also speak to his counterpart in Maharashtra. Whatever happened (with the SP) is not right".

On being asked whether he would speak to Maharashtra CM over this issue, Nitish said, "No, it is not a political matter. In fact, it is the legal responsibility of Patna police to investigate the case. Bihar Police is carrying out its legal responsibility. In such a situation, our DGP will speak to them".
Nitish, however, avoided making any comment on the media's query whether there would be a CBI inquiry into the case.
Sushant(34), who was born and brought up in Patna, was found hanging from the ceiling of his Bandra (Mumbai) residence on June 24.
Around a week back, Sushant’s father KK Singh lodged an FIR with Patna police, alleging abetment to suicide naming actress Rhea Chakraborty, said to be close to the deceased actor, and her family members as accused.
Earlier, Patna police sent a team to Mumbai to probe the matter on the basis of the FIR lodged by Sushant’s father. Tiwari went to Mumbai on Sunday to lead the investigation.
