Jipmer not to conduct MBBS entrance exam
PUDUCHERRY: Jawaharlal institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) will not hold the entrance examination for admission into MBBS course in the institute from 2020 batch onwards, said dean (academic) Pankaj Kundra.
In a notice posted on the institute's website, Kundra said the National Testing Agency would hold the entrance examinations for admissions into MBBS courses in Jipmer from 2020.

He said the Union health and family welfare ministry would hold the common and uniform National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Neet) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions as per the provisions of Section (14) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.
"The admission to the MBBS course in Jipmer, Puducherry, and Jipmer, Karaikal, will be made through NEET and the entrance exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency, not by Jipmer from 2020 onwards," said Kundra in the notice.
The dean said the students can get more information on www.nta.ac.in and ntaneet.nic.in.
