Covid-19: 37 test positive, 52 recover in Himachal Pradesh

Thirty-seven positive cases of Coronavirus were reported in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. The positive cases include 17 from Chamba district, eight from Solan district, six from Una district, four from Kangra district and two from Shimla district.

SHIMLA: Thirty-seven positive cases of Covid-19 were reported in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. The positive cases include 17 from Chamba district, eight from Solan district, six from Una district, four from Kangra district and two from Shimla district.
However, 52 positive patients have also recovered across the state: they include 25 from Sirmaur district, seven from Mandi district, six each from Kangra and Una districts, four from Solan district, three from Chamba district and one from Shimla district.
The state has 2,916 positive cases of which 1,114 cases are active. 1,762 positive patients have recovered, while 12 have died and 26 have migrated out of state.
A total of 156,104 persons has been tested for Covid-19 in the state till Wednesday of which 151,154 persons have tested negative while results of 2,034 samples were awaited.
Chamba deputy commissioner Vivek Bhatia said that one person was found positive who had no contact or travel history and was checked in random sampling. He said that on Wednesday his 50 primary and secondary contacts were tested and 16 were found positive from Dharog Mohall of Chamba for Covid-19 which includes five of his family members. Another positive case in Chamba has been detected from the Dharadda area.
He said all those tested positive are asymptomatic and are being shifted to Dedicated Covid Care Centre. He said that areas from where positive cases of corona have been detected would be notified as containment zones and aggressive sampling and contact tracing would be launched in these areas.
Those tested positive in Kangra district include a 22-year-old male from Rodigudi village of Dadasiba tehsil who had arrived from Mumbai on July 28 and was in institutional quarantine at Jwalamukhi and a 22-year-old male from Boh village of Shahpur tehsil who had arrived from West Bengal and was in institutional quarantine at Parlour.

A 25-year-old male from Gagloi near Majheen who is the primary contact of positive case and a 33-year-old army personnel who had arrived from Leh on July 28 and presently is in Army institutional quarantine at Palampur have also been tested positive.
In Solan district, six positive cases have been reported from Palog and Rohanj Jalana panchayats of Arki sub division while two positive cases have been reported from Baddi area.
